The danger of new ideas  

One of the hardest things in a startup is to figure out where to focus your energies. Entrepreneurs are constantly assailed by new ideas, and focusing on the right subset of ideas can be a challenge.

At the same time, sometimes, focusing on the wrong idea can kill your chances just as effectively.

This article presents the case against distractions:

I now think of these new ideas as the Sirens of the startup journey. If you listen to their call, your startup journey will cease to make progress. Each of these projects were serious distractions from our initial vision of organizing local information.
